なぜ確認するのか

Aには、よく使われる音が2つあります。cake の長いA、そして cat の短いAです。

The letter A has two common sounds — the long A in cake, and the short A in cat.

発音のしかた

長いAは、口を大きく開けてから「イー」へ向かって動かし、あごを少し閉じます。短いAは、あごを下げたまま動かしません。

For the long A, open wide and glide toward "ee" as your jaw closes a little. For the short A, drop your jaw and hold it still.
